If there's any indication by the way the Bluejays have opened the season, coach Don Brubacher and the Bluejays could be in store for a long year.

You can't exactly say Tabor is playing a cream puff schedule early though.

Four games into the year, the Bluejays have dropped games to Oklahoma Baptist, a team ranked third in NAIA Div. I in Street and Smith's College Basketball magazine, in the season opening tournament.

November 15's finale of the Oklahoma Christian Tournament in OKC was no better as the Bluejays fell to 0-2 after an 89-61 loss to host Oklahoma Christian.

So far through the last three games, Tabor's lived by the three, putting up 67 shots. It's been killing them, too, hitting a cool 26 percent.

Tabor's most recent shortcomings came Nov. 21 and 22 in the Sterling Tournament.

On Friday, a fatal first half proved costly with Texas Wesleyan using a nine-point boost off second chance baskets to down the Bluejays.

Tabor trailed at halftime, 38-32, and six points was the difference as the Rams prevailed, 73-67.

Jeremiah Randall scored a team-high 14 points while pulling down eight rebounds followed by Jared Reese's 13 points.

In the final game of the tournament Saturday, William Jewell sprinted to a 49-31 lead at halftime and rolled to a 98-72 win with the help of 23 Tabor turnovers that were converted into 36 points.

Matt Nelson scored a team-high 12 points, Brad Gattis added 11 and Colby Bettles chipped in 10.

The Bluejays' road got no easier Tuesday night as they faced the Kansas Newman Jets in Wichita. Results of Tuesday's action were unavailable at press time.

Tabor then returns to action Friday in Hillsboro in the opening game of the Thanksgiving Tournament against Missouri Valley at 8 p.m.

On Saturday in the second game of the tournament, the Bluejays meet Fresno Pacific at 5 p.m.
