Tabor professor publishes article in theological journal

Three faculty positions have been filled at Tabor College as of July 1, according to Dr. Howard Keim, vice president of academic affairs.

Adam Wathen of Hillsboro has accepted the position of director of library services. A graduate of Tabor College and Emporia State University, Wathen most recently served as the technical services librarian in the Tabor College Library.

Other prior work experience includes serving as a graduate teaching assistant, library assistant and assistant professor at Montana State University, Bozeman, Mont., and reference librarian and government publications coordinator at Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.

Dr. Holly Swartzendruber of Chicago will serve as assistant professor of vocal music. After earning her bachelor's degree from Goshen (Ind.) College, she earned her master's at Ohio University, then completed work for her doctor of musical arts degree from the University of Kansas in December 2001.

She has performed in several operatic roles, including Lucia from Britten's The Rape of Lucretia and Susanna from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro. In addition to performing soprano solos in various works, she has also taught private voice for nine years. Swartzendruber is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Pamela Woodman, currently completing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, Calif., has been hired to serve as an instructor in psychology. Woodman is a graduate of Augustana College in Alberta, Canada, and the Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, Fresno, Calif.
