Tabor signs athletes

The women's basketball program at Tabor College has signed an additional student-athlete to its roster for the 2004-05 season.

Danielle Ebert, a graduate of Rock Creek Junior/Senior High School, is a 5-5, 145-pound point guard/shooting guard who earned Mid-East League Honorable Mention and Flint Hills Honorable Mention. The honor roll student is also a member of the National Honor Society and a recipient of the Mid-East League Academic-Athletic Award.

"Danielle has excelled both on the court and in the classroom while in high school," said head women's basketball coach Rusty Allen. "She has good quickness and is very physically strong. Danielle's character and work ethic are very impressive."

Football

The Tabor College football program has signed Kevin Carroll of Quitman, Ga., and Jacob Sattler of Wichita for the 2004 season.

Carroll, a 5'10", 180-pound kicker, is a two-time second team all-region kicker. He is the son of Walter and Brenda Carroll of Quitman.

Sattler, a 6'4", 195-pound defensive end, is a graduate of Kapaun Mount Carmel and earned honorable mention right guard in the Wichita City league. He is the son of John and Jan Sattler of Derby.

Track

Shelby Miller of Byers, Colo., Rachel Cartwright of Winfield, and Merle Johnson Jr. of Lee's Summit, Mo., have signed letters of intent to participate in Tabor College's track and field program.

Miller participates in the long jump, 400m, and 80m relays and the 800 medley. She holds Byers High School records in long jump (16-10), 800m relay (2:3.02), and 800 medley (1:55.02). She is the daughter of Robert Miller of Byers.

Cartwright participates in the 4x100 and 4x400. She is the daughter of Lori Kistler of Winfield and Earl Cartwright of Olathe.

Johnson will transfer from Butler Community College to run the 100m, 200, 4x100relay and the 60m. At BCC he was ranked 11th nationally in the 60m dash. He is the son of Merle and Pamela Johnson of Lee's Summit.
