Tabor signs hoopster
The Tabor College basketball team will see yet another new face next season on the court. Last week, Oklahoma City native Christopher Myers, a 6-9, 250-pound center/forward, signed a letter of intent, according to Bluejays head coach Don Brubacher.
Myers, who sat out for two seasons after a stint at Cedar Valley Junior College in Texas, will bring with him talent and expectations, said Brubacher.
"Chris will be one of a few true five-men in our program," Brubacher said. "He brings the tools required to play the post position extremely well. Obviously, his size is a great advantage. Athletically, he runs the court very well."
At Western Heights High School, Myers set the school record his senior year for most blocked shots in a season with 92, and played in the coveted Jim Thorpe All-Star Basketball game.
Brubacher said Myers has the ability to fill the void present for the past few years at the center position.
"Chris brings strength at the position at which we need help the most on our basketball program," Brubacher said.
