Tabor social systems class sponsors toy drive

Tabor College social systems class is collecting new toys for the Salvation Army in Wichita. The Salvation Army will distribute the toys to underprivileged children on Christmas Day.

The class is studying systems in groups and teams, and Ebonee Capers, a senior social science major from Wichita, felt that a toy drive would be a chance to put that knowledge into practice. She believes that the toy drive is a good opportunity for Tabor students to get involved.

"I believe every child deserves to have a good Christmas," Capers said. "I felt this was an opportunity to actually give instead of receive."

Tabor students and friends are invited to purchase toys in the $5 to $10 range and drop the unwrapped gifts off at the Student Center, Schlicting Center, or the Tabor College Library.

Monetary donations are also welcome and may be sent to Tabor College, Attn: Ebonee Capers, 400 South Jefferson, Hillsboro, Kan., 67063.

All donations must be sent in by Tuesday, Dec. 14.

"This is a great opportunity for people to spread Christmas spirit and help those who need it," said Amy Rouse, a student in the class from McPherson. "It is a chance to get involved and to think of others in this hectic time of year."
