Tabor tracksters compete at nationals

Members of the Tabor College track team competed at the NAIA Outdoor National Track and Field Meet in Louisville, Ky., on May 27-28.

Senior Landon Goertzen had the best finish, placing eighth in the finals of the 800m with a time of 1:52.85. Goertzen scored Tabor's only team point. He ran three 800m races on three consecutive days to get into the finals.

Sophomore Matt Rorabaugh cleared 6'5" in the high jump to finish 10th, and freshman Clint Reed jumped 6'5" for an 11th place finish.

The men's 4x400m relay team of sophomore Caleb Stanton, freshmen Jeff Anneson and Tim Jones, and Goertzen placed 14th with a time of 3:16.77, its best time of the year.

"Landon ended a great track career at Tabor with a fine effort in the finals of the 800m," said head coach Dave Kroeker. "He also ran a great anchor leg on the 4x400m relay in the prelims. It has been quite some time since Tabor has scored at the national track, and that is really an accomplishment for Landon."
