Tabor volleyball drops first five games

The 2003 volleyball season got off on the wrong foot for the Lady Bluejays Sept. 5 and 6 as they are still on the hunt for their first win.

Tabor went 0-5 at the College of the Ozarks tournament at Point Lookout, Branson, Mo.

In Friday's action, the Bluejays tumbled in five sets to Southern Nazarene.

Tabor took two in the first and fourth sets by the respective scores of 30-26 and 31-29.

SNU came evened the series at 1-1 with a 30-27 win before pulling ahead 2-1 with a 30-28 victory in the third. SNU won the determining game 15-5.

John Brown edged the Bluejays in four games, winning the first match 30-28. Tabor came back in the second to win 30-22, but JBU won the next two, 30-25 and 30-21, respectively.

Central Methodist made short work of Tabor, sweeping it in three, 30-27, 30-22 and 30-18.

Tournament host College of the Ozarks also swept the Bluejays by 30-21, 30-25 and 30-27 scores.

Evangel put the finishing touches on the learning experienced weekend for the Bluejays with yet another sweep.

Evangel won the first set 30-11 before rolling to 31-29 and another 30-11 clincher.

The Bluejays opened KCAC play Wednesday as they traveled to Leavenworth to face the hosting St. Mary Lady Spires. Results of Wednesday's action were unavailable at publication time.
