Paul and Edna Backhus went to Lyons Sunday for the Backhus family Christmas dinner at the home of Mildred Bernhardt. Other guests were Bill and Ruth Taylor of Shawnee, Vic Backhus of Herington, Martin Backhus of Lee's Summit, Mo., Paul and Emma Paulson of Mt. Ida, Ark., Keith and Lydia Evans of Haysville, and Gerald and Alice Yoackum of Wichita. The only sibling who could not attend, Alvin Backhus of Phoenix, Ariz., called with Christmas greetings.
Sunday evening visitors of Helen Schwartzman were Eleanor Murphy, Martha Melcher, and Jim and Mary Clemmer.
Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki, and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna attended the Midwest Polka Club's annual Christmas supper and party at Goddard Sunday evening.
Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn visited his parents, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs, after church Sunday.
John and Kathy Oborny, Diane Steiner, and Mike and Sharon Benda were Sunday afternoon visitors of Dan and Kim Oborny, Ethan and Logan. All shared birthday cake and ice cream in celebration of Logan's first birthday.
Ryan and Claudette Spohn and Adam of Iowa City, Iowa, spent Thanksgiving weekend with his parents, Gary and Carole Spohn. Additional Thanksgiving dinner guests were Steve Spohn of Hutchinson, Juanita and Josiah D'Albini of Hillsboro, Orlin and Norma Wagner of Wichita, and Georgia Spohn.
Thanksgiving weekend guests of Tom and Dee Duggan were Darla Hall and Adam of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington. They celebrated the Duggans' wedding anniversary and Deb's and Tom's birthdays, as well as Thanksgiving.
Kristin Srajer of Omaha, Neb., spent the Thanksgiving weekend here visiting Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole. All were Thanksgiving dinner guests of Bill and Pam Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls, where they were joined by Donald and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha, Steve and Jan Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls, and later by Ronald and Dolores Scott of Emporia. Donald and Carolyn spent the rest of the weekend at Tampa.
Lucille Kerbs visited Connie Thompson and Taylor in Abilene Saturday.
Anna Mae Stika and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna went to Salina Saturday for dinner and a movie.
Leona Kleiber was a Friday supper guest of Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and Nicholas.
Tillie Hein and her houseguests, Donald and Carolyn Srajer and Kristin Srajer, went to Emporia Saturday afternoon for Ronald Scott's birthday party. Additional guests of Ronald and Dolores Scott were Debra and Terry Dody of Branson, Mo., Pamela and Bill Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls, Rebecca and John Nottingham, Daniel, Alex, and Emily of Ozawkie, other relatives, and friends.
Gary and Carole Spohn and their houseguests, Ryan and Claudette Spohn and Adam, were guests of Georgia Spohn on Friday for dinner at the café.
Doug and Brenda Lee Mueller and Donovan of Wisconsin spent from Wednesday to Friday with his parents, Art and Betty Mueller. David Mueller was an additional Thanksgiving dinner guest. The occasion also was a celebration of David's, Brenda's, and Doug's birthdays and an early Christmas celebration. They received holiday greetings by phone from Dale and Marla Mueller and Travis and Christina Schroeder. In the afternoon Doug, Brenda, and David went to White City to visit Lola and Jack Ware and their family. Donovan stayed with his grandparents.
Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki enjoyed dinner out and a movie in Salina Friday.

Other guests were Glenn and Eloise Kerbs and Clayton of Dodge City, Reuben Kerbs of Wichita, Doug and Connie Thompson, Allison and Taylor of Abilene, Ashton Kerbs, and Jesse Smith of Salina.
Larry Hampton and Neil Hampton of Sierra Vista, Ariz., spent from Wednesday to Friday with Lois Sklenar. Greg Sklenar of Wichita was a Wednesday overnight and Thanksgiving guest. Tony Young of Goessel visited them on Thanksgiving Day.
Geraldine Noonan of Dallas, Texas, spent the Thanksgiving weekend with her mother, Helen Schwartzman. Additional guests were Wayne and Marita Schwartzman of Wichita, who had spent the whole week here.
Diane Herron and Andrew of Wichita and Janie Rziha of Atchison were Thanksgiving weekend guests of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha, Cecilia, Julie, and Dana. All were Thanksgiving Day guests of John and Jeanne Rziha, Michael, Christopher, Joseph, and Timothy, giving everyone an opportunity to get acquainted with Timothy, the newest addition to the family. David Rziha of Lawrence joined them there and returned to Tampa for the rest of the weekend.
Randy Hamm of Leawood spent Thanksgiving weekend with his parents, Gus and Mildred Hamm. Dave and Sharon Schrag, Payden, Ross, and Layne of Lindsborg met them at Durham Thursday evening and all attended the Hamm family Thanksgiving supper. Other Tampa people attending were Jim and Myrna Hamm, Sara, Lucas, and Morganne. Gus, Mildred, and Randy went to Florence Sunday for the Padgett family Thanksgiving dinner.
Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna joined other relatives for Thanksgiving supper at the home of Brian and Corey Sader in Salina.
Barney, Linda, and Megan Bernhardt of Wichita and Carl and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington were post-Thanksgiving dinner guests of Adeline Bernhardt on Friday. Other reasons to celebrate were Kathy's and Barney's birthdays. In the afternoon all visited Milda Krauter at Marion Manor in Marion.
Grant and Cole Srajer were Friday and Saturday overnight guests of Tillie Hein and her houseguests, Donald and Carolyn Srajer and Kristin Srajer.
Jim and Mary Clemmer were Thanksgiving dinner guests of Dale and Sandy Clemmer and Cassie in Salina. Other guests were Don and Jo Clemmer and Stevie of Salina, Gene and Glennis Jones and Olive French of Madison and Nyle and Kathi Sutton, Alex, Meaghan, and Kyle of Topeka. They received a phone call from LCpl. Charlie Clemmer.

Rodney Mueller of Cheyenne, Wyo., spent last week with his mother, Phyllis Mueller. Additional Thanksgiving dinner guests were Ron and Jody Heath, Danielle and Tyler of Salina, Don and Ophelia Jacobson and Greg Jacobson of Hope, Tom and Bev Reid of Marion County Lake, Paul and Edna Backhus, Jason Backhus, and Sara Houdyshell. Joining them in the evening were John and Wanda Lewis, Paul, Sarah, and Luke of Wichita, Mike and Jennifer Jay of Hillsboro and Kathy Backhus.

Nov. 27 breakfast guests of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs were Reuben Kerbs of Wichita and Russ and Rustyn Kerbs. Reuben II was spending several days visiting in Tampa.
Andrea Kleiber was a Nov. 27 dinner guest of her grandmother, Leona Kleiber.
Prairie Pals met the evening of Nov. 25 at the American Legion hall with Monica Leihy and Jeanne Rziha as hostesses. Jeanne brought a program on preventive health care with particular emphasis on preventing and/or reversing osteoporosis. Others present included Michele Berens, Mary Clemmer, Iona Dietrich, Lori Meyer, Melissa Stuchlik, Jane Vajnar, and Mary Leihy. Plans were made for the Christmas party on Dec. 7. Members will meet at the Legion hall at 4:45 p.m. and carpool to several homes for a progressive dinner.
Lola Ware of White City and Betty Mueller spent Nov. 20 together and enjoyed dinner in Hillsboro.
