Tescott tops GHS in football
The Bluebird football team again took until half time to find their offense in the 30-16 loss against Tescott last Friday. Tescott posted a 16-0 lead at half time with both defenses playing quite a bit.
After the half time break, Goessel found some offensive life as the linemen placed good blocks and the running backs found holes to run through. A Tescott personal foul gave Goessel a first and ten on the 15-yard line. Three attempts by Dylan Buller, running straight ahead, punched the ball into the end zone.
A one-handed grab in the end zone by Aaron Stehman on the extra point cut Tescott's lead to 16-8. On the kickoff, Tescott fumbled the ball giving Goessel a chance to march in for another score. However, the next play for Goessel ended with an interception.
Tescott scored another touch down on the first play in the fourth quarter. Again with 8:12 to play in the game, Tescott's running back broke loose on a 60-yard run to make the score 30-8.
The Bluebirds responded with a march down the field, and Ben Schmidt connected with Aaron Stehman for a 6-yard pass and the same combination for the extra point. Neither Goessel nor Tescott could score again after the six minute mark.
