Theodore Hamm

Theodore (Ted) Hamm, 85, died Aug. 7, 2005, at Salem Nursing Home in Hillsboro, Kansas.

Born June 25, 1920, he was the son of Edward and Bertha (Hill) Hamm.

On Oct. 3, 1945, he was united in marriage to Ruth Black in McPherson.

Hamm worked at AMPI in Hillsboro and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 1992; three brothers Harry Hamm, Art Hamm, and Eddie Hamm; and three sisters, Elsie Lawrence, Florine Hamm, and Dorothy Foth.

He is survived by six sons, Clinton Hamm of Newton, Loren Hamm of McPherson, Terry Hamm, Alan Hamm, Howard Hamm, and Dennis Hamm, all of Hillsboro; a daughter, Sandra Bezdek of Hillsboro; three brothers, Duane Hamm and Delbert Hamm, both of Hillsboro, and Marvin Hamm of Wells; a sister, Elma Klein and Florence Hett, both of Hillsboro; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held August 10 at First Baptist Church, Durham, with Pastor Lyndon Decker officiating. Burial was in Durham Park Cemetery, rural Durham.

A memorial fund has been established at First Southern Baptist Church of Hillsboro.
