Thies, Farnsworth marry
Kristin Whitney Thies and John Michael Farnsworth were united in marriage Sept. 28, 2002, at the Marjorie Allen Powell Chapel in Kingsville, Mo., with Pastor Sandy Seaba officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Charlie and Stephanie Thies of Olathe. She is the granddaughter of Peggy Thies of Salina and the late Dr. William Thies, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Mullen of Marquette, and Patti Mullen of Wichita.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Farnsworth of Spring Hill. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Jennings of Overland Park and Mr. and Mrs. John Farnsworth of Gardner.
The bride wore a white satin off-the-shoulder gown with a fitted bodice of seeded pearls and beads and a cathedral-length train. The veil was edged in rhinestones. She carried a nose gay of tropicanna and cream-color roses with accents of baby's breath.
The maid of honor was Amy Herman of Olathe. Bridesmaids were Chelsee Thies, sister of the bride, and Jenny Farnsworth, sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Katie Thies, sister of the bride.
Best man was Brian Bursch of Overland Park. Groomsmen were Matthew Farnsworth, brother of the groom, of Spring Hill and Brian Kelly, cousin of the groom, of Leawood.
Ushers were Chris Farnsworth and Mickey Kelly, cousins of the groom, both of Leawood.
Flower girl was Amy Peterson of Spring Hill. Candlelighters were Katie Thies and Matthew Mitchell, cousin of the bride, of Edmond, Okla.
Guestbook attendant was Bridgett Kelly, cousin of the groom, of Leawood. Alee Mitchell, cousin of the bride, of Edmond, Okla., was in charge of the program sheets.
The reception was held at the Grand Hall Conservatory.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the Bristol Restaurant at Leawood.
After a honeymoon cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, the couple is at home in Gardner.
