Threshing Days start Aug. 1
Activities for this year's Threshing Days are set to begin Friday, Aug. 1, and run through Sunday, Aug. 3.
"Remembering the Past" is the theme of this year's 30th annual celebration. Many of the traditional foods and demonstrations will be featured, including fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Friday and the parade at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Also Saturday, Zamojski will present items from von Goessel's birthplace. That ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m.
All weekend long, the Goessel Police Department will hold a fund-raising Buffalo Burger stand, with meals beginning Friday evening. The stand will be at the park shelter building during the volleyball tournament.
Proceeds from the fund-raiser will help purchase equipment for the police department.
