Tomahawks defeat Little River

Peabody-Burns Junior High boys' basketball team traveled Thursday to Windom and defeated Little River, 42-28.
The Tomahawks took an early lead and were up by six at the end of the first half, 12-6. Jacob Simmonds led the team with four points. Seth Alstrom, Aaron Topham, Garrett Weems, and Isaac Hilliard each had two points.
PBJH built a bigger lead in the second and held Little River to five points. Sean Jones paced the Tomahawks with five points.
Topham and Alstrom had two each and Martin Hofkamp added a free throw to give PBJH a 22-11 halftime lead.
The Tomahawks scored 20 second-half points to claim the victory. Simmonds had eight points, and Hilliard added four points.
Alstrom, Topham, Jones, and Weems all had two points.
PBJH plays next at Moundridge.
Junior varsity
PBJH junior varsity defeated Little River as well, 25-20.
Caleb Hilliard paced the team with five points. Jason Wingert, Storm Pickens, and Dylan Jones had four each.
Sean Brunner and Daulton Teaford scored three, while Jacob Gillett added two points.
