Tracksters take third at Halstead quad
The Goessel High School track team braved the elements Tuesday and competed in the Halstead quadrangular meet. Although there were sunny skies, the temperature was 48 degrees with northerly winds at 20 mph. Both the girls' and boys' teams placed third.
Schools competing in the quad meet were Halstead, Peabody-Burns, Bluestem, and Fairfield.
In the girls' division, Halstead placed first with 120 points, Peabody-Burns placed second with 96, Goessel third with 72, Bluestem fourth with 48, and Fairfield fifth with 28.
In the boys' division, Halstead won first place with 188 points, Peabody-Burns second with 81, Goessel third 38, Bluestem fourth with 35, and Fairfield fifth with 27.
