Trojan volleyball team defeats Ellinwood
The Hillsboro High School varsity volleyball team hosted Ellinwood Tuesday and defeated the Eagles in both matches.
In the first match, Hillsboro won 25-13, 25-22.
No serving statistics were available at press time. Amy Duerksen was 20 for 20 in sets with five assists. JuliAnne Chisholm led in blocks scoring eight and one stuff.
In the second match, Hillsboro won 25-16, 25-16.
Leading the Trojans in serving were Alisa Prior who was 10 of 11, Danielle Goossen was eight of eight, Jessica Ratzloff was eight of nine, and Chisholm was seven of eight.
Goossen was 24 of 25 with five assists. Katie Fast was 10 of 11 attacks with three kills and Chisholm was eight of nine with two kills.
The team will compete n the Canton-Galva Tournament on Saturday. Game time is 9 a.m.
