Hillsboro High School Trojan volleyball team took two of three matches Aug. 30 at the Lyons quad to improve to 6-2.
HHS defeated Lyons and Claflin before falling to Goessel.
It was the first time Arnold had seen Claflin on the volleyball court.
"We did OK," head coach Sandy Arnold said. "We had to do some jostling of the lineup after an injury."
The victory against 2004 state-qualifier Lyons was the second one of the year for Hillsboro.
"We did pretty well," Arnold said. "But they still have some girls that can help them win."
Arnold said she didn't want to admit but she thought fatigue was a factor in the Goessel loss.
"It's not a good excuse," she said. "But I could tell we were tired and we stopped being aggressive."
It was the third match in a row for the Trojans and the eighth in four days.
HHS varsity will play Tuesday at the Halstead quad, while the junior varsity squad will take on Lyons this week.
