Trojans sweep Hillsboro triangular
Hillsboro High School girls' tennis team beat Smoky Valley and Wichita Collegiate Sept. 13 at the Hillsboro triangular.
The Trojans defeated the Vikings in opening play, 6-3, and took down Collegiate 8-1.
Head coach Lynn Wiebe was able to play both varsity and junior varsity players at the meet.
"They are doing a significantly better job of moving the ball from side to side rather than just hitting up the middle," she said. "I'm also seeing a much better use of different kinds of shots.

Circle tournament
The Trojans played Thursday at the Circle tournament, finishing tied for first in the five-team pool.
Both doubles teams of Marsh and Amber Loewen, and Harmon and Lauren Just too first.
"Both teams did a nice job of taking charge at the net and finishing points," Wiebe said.
Hagen took third as a number one single and Wienbrenner took the championship as the number two single.
Junior varsity
The Trojan junior varsity tied for first as well at the Hillsboro invitational.
The number two doubles team of Maria Loewen and Kelsey Bartel led the team with two victories against Circle and Sacred Heart.
