United Way seeks volunteers
United Way in Marion County is beginning its organizational plans for the 2003 campaign that will kick off later this summer.
Advisory council members are Jessie Nikkel, chairman, Cynthia Fleming, secretary/treasurer, Carl Long, vice president, Gordon Mohn, Donna Fisher, Vince Nikkel, Kelly Krch, Jim Elliott, Jan Helmer, and Angela Duerksen. More volunteers are needed from Durham, Peabody, and Marion.
Many members of the advisory council met with United Way staff on March 28 to begin planning the 2003 campaign.
Jessie Nikkel, council chairman, said, "It is our hope to gather the necessary resources to help local non-profit health and human service organizations in Marion County."
The next meeting scheduled is May 13 at Central National Bank in Marion.
