Unrau named national FFA proficiency award winner
Goessel FFA member Jared Unrau, 19, has been named the national winner of the Agricultural Mechanics Energy Systems Entrepreneurship/Placement Proficiency Award at the 79th annual FFA convention at Indianapolis, Ind.
Unrau became eligible for the national award after winning the Kansas FFA state competition earlier this year. He works on the family farm where a major part of his job is repairing and maintaining the farm machinery. His duties include welding, torching, electrical wiring, and hydraulic work.
Unrau is a graduate of Goessel High School and attends Hutchinson Community College, studying agricultural technology management and agricultural diesel mechanics.
He is the son of DeAlan and Alma Unrau.
