Unruhs celebrate 60th wedding anniversary years ago
Oliver O. and Frances Unruh of Hillsboro will be honored for their 60th wedding anniversary with a come-and-go open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at 204 S. Washington in Hillsboro.
Oliver and the former Frances Frick were married Oct. 29, 1944, at First Baptist Church in Durham.
The couple has resided in Newton, Louisiana, and Hillsboro. He was employed at Tip Top Dairy in Hillsboro and Santa Fe Railroad. She was employed at Tip Top Dairy and Prairie View. They are both retired.
Hosting the event are their children, Bev Elliott of Hillsboro and Sid and Irma Unruh of Newton, and their grandchildren. The couple has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the celebration. The couple request no gifts.
