Utting takes first at Hillsboro open
The Hillsboro Golf Association sponsored the Hillsboro Open 18-hole flighted tournament March 23 at the Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course.
Results were as follows: Championship — First place, Stan Utting of Hillsboro, 72, SCPO; second place, Terry Kinglsey of Hesston, 72 SCPO; third place, Ed Thiessen of Hesston, 72; fourth place, Tracy Clites of El Dorado, 73.
First Flight — First place, Russ Wade of Wichita, 77 SCPO, second place, Mark Bennett of Moundridge, 77; third place, Ken Johnson of Hillsboro, 78 SCPO, and fourth place, Jeff Goerning of Marion, 78.
Second Flight — First place, David Weihe of Rosehill, 85 SCPO, second place, Carl Long of Hillsboro, 85; third place, Harold Schultz of Hillsboro 86, and fourth place, Jerold Vogt of Hillsboro, 88.
