Vandals damage Hillsboro golf course

Hillsboro Police Department is investigating a vandalism complaint at Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course Aug. 14, when subjects broke out-of-bounds markers and a golf ball washer. Four suspects were interviewed. Charges are pending.

Aug. 13: Welfare check conducted in the 600 block of North Ash Street. A child welfare check was provided in the 200 block of East First Street.

Aug. 14: Dog complaints were filed in the 100 block of North Madison and 300 block of North Ash streets. SRS received assistance with an investigation. A report was made of juveniles disturbing traffic in the 300 block of South Ash Street. Damage was reported in the 200 block of South Madison Street possibly caused by several juveniles playing with air soft guns but no damage was located. Suspicious activity was checked in Memorial Park.

Aug. 15: Suspicious activity was checked in the 800 block of East Ash Street; two males were reported chasing each other with guns but the guns were determined to be toys. Juveniles were reported in the 4-H building at Marion County Fairgrounds. An animal welfare check was conducted in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street.

Aug. 16: EMS received assistance with a call in the 300 block of South Floral Drive. McPherson County Sheriff's Department received assistance with an investigation. Bobby Hurd of 110 S. Jefferson Street reported damage to the front door of his residence; it appeared that someone had struck the door with a fist or blunt object; damage was estimated at $150. A subject was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A noise complaint of a loud car stereo was reported on D Street.

Thursday: Kansas Bureau of Investigation received assistance with an investigation. Assistance was provided to a parent regarding a child custody dispute. A funeral escort was provided. A civil process for the city was served. Suspicious activity was checked in the 300 block of North Ash Street.

Friday: Marion County Sheriff's Department received assistance with traffic control on U.S.-56. A parking complaint was filed in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street. McPherson County received assistance with locating a wanted person.

Saturday: Suspicious activity was checked in the 200 block of West D Street. A report was made of a loud party in the 300 block of North Washington Street. Parking complaints were filed in the 100 block of West D and 400 block of North Ash streets.
