Verda Wedel
Verda Ethel Wedel, 83, died April 20, 2008, at Bethesda Home, Goessel.
Born April 18, 1925, at Goessel, she was the daughter of Jacob and Helen (Schmidt) Boese.
On Oct. 29, 1946, she married Daton Wedel at Goessel. She was a homemaker and member of Goessel Mennonite Church.
Survivors include her husband, Daton of Goessel; two sons, Fred Wedel of Burlington, Colo., and Leslie Wedel of Goessel; two daughters, Jennalee Boggs of Hutchinson and Jan Voth of Hesston; three sisters, Erlene Unruh, Esther Schmidt, and Meribeth Schmidt, all of Goessel; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Goessel Mennonite Church with Pastor Mike Hiebert officiating. Burial was at 1 p.m. in Goessel Mennonite Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with the church, Bethesda Home, or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
