Verna Pankratz
Verna Pankratz, 99, died June 21, 2006, at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.
Born Aug. 10, 1906, at Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Gerhard and Anna (Bartel) Schroeder.
On July 23, 1929, she married Henry Pankratz at Hillsboro. He died in 1990.
She was a telephone operator and homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Stuart Pankratz of Lansing, Mich.; daughter, Farol Bale of Kansas City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with Pastor Randy Smith officiating.
Burial was in Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
A memorial fund has been established with First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.
