Victor Funk
Victor J. Funk, 87, of Hesston, died Oct. 25, 2002, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
Born July 9, 1915, in Risley Township in Marion County, he was the son of Gerhard and Sarah (Bartel) Funk.
He mainly grew up in the Hillsboro community except for several years in Montana. On June 5, 1945, he married E. Ruby Funk at rural Goessel. They resided in Newton until moving to Schowalter Villa one year ago.
He was a member of Tabor Mennonite Church and a maintenance worker for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife of Newton; son, Bruce of Carrolton, Texas; brother, Harvey Funk of Shafter, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 30 at Tabor Mennonite Church near Goessel with Rev. Corey Miller officiating. Burial was at Tabor Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Tabor Mennonite Church.
