Waldo Ediger

Waldo Ediger, 76, of Goessel died June 13, 2002, at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

Born on May 23, 1926, he was the youngest son of Henry and Elizabeth (Goossen) Ediger. His parents died when he was almost three years old, and he grew up in the home of his uncle, David Ediger.

He attended elementary school at Good Hope. On May 28, 1944, he was baptized by Rev. P. A. Penner of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.

On May 13, 1966, he married Alda Mae Goertzen. She survives.

He worked in Idaho in the potato harvests for several seasons. He worked for the city of Hillsboro for 10 years and Excel Industries in Hesston for 34 years retiring on Oct. 2, 1998.

He enjoyed playing pool, bowling, playing miniature golf, and watching sports on TV. He was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Rudolph, Arthur, and Henry, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Ronald of Goessel; and sister-in-law, Katherine Ediger.

A memorial service was held June 16 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel with Pastor Jim Dunn officiating. Organist was Wanda Ratzlaff, and soloist was Kay Schroeder.

A memorial has been established with Bethesda Home in Goessel.
