Wedding: Enns, Claassen

Ashley Dawn Claassen of Wichita and David Craig Enns of Wichita were married July 20, 2002, at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. Officiating the double-ring ceremony were pastors Tim Sullivan of Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church and Corey Miller of Tabor Mennonite Church.

Parents of the couple are Randy and Janice Claassen of Hillsboro and Jim and Brenda Enns of rural Hillsboro.

Grandparents of the bride are Roy and Jean Keller of Hillsboro and Dorothy Claassen of Wichita. Grandparents of the groom are Lauren and Luetta Enns of Hillsboro and Ron and Dora Unruh of Durham. Great-grandfather is Wesley Unruh of Hillsboro.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white organza spaghetti strap A-line dress with floral embroidery. The headpiece was a silver bun wrap of vines, pearls, and rhinestone flowers with a two-tier fingertip length veil with pearl scalloped edging.

The bride carried a nosegay of white roses attached to a white satin covered Bible that was also carried by her mother, aunts, and grandmother. In the Bible was a handkerchief that had been carried by her great-grandmother Keller in 1918, her grandmother in 1950, and her mother in 1977.

Maid of honor was Angie Claassen of Hillsboro, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Shiela Wiebe of Harrisonburg, Va., Lisa Enns of Hillsboro, sister of the groom, and Melinda Jantz of Wichita.

Best man was Pat Buller of Hillsboro. Groomsmen were Chad Duerksen of Lehigh, Ryan Bartel of Hesston, and Darren Enns of Hillsboro, brother of the groom.

Bridal attendant was Sara Unruh, escorted by Peter Claassen, brother of the bride.

Flowergirls were Katie Claassen, sister of the bride, and Rebecca and Cara Rue of Valley Center, cousins of the bride.

Ringbearer was Nathan Unruh of Durham, cousin of the groom.

Candle lighters were Jayme Claassen of Hillsboro, sister of the bride, Nicole Rue, cousin of the bride, and Alysha Claassen, sister of the bride.

Musicians were Lonn and Bev Richards of Hillsboro, organist and pianist. Krista Winter of Hillsboro, Robert and Tracy Keller of Auburn, the Richards and Randy Claassen, father of the bride, were vocalists.

Ushers were Dan Claassen of Newton, Pat Keller of Hutchinson, and Warren Unruh and Mark Unruh, both of Durham.

Guestbook attendants were Brionne Claassen and Jodi Watkins, cousins of the bride.

In charge of the gifts were Sarah Unruh, Michelle Rue, Kent Claassen, and Matthew Hiebert.

A reception was held in the Parkview activity center. Serving as hosts and hostesses were Mike and Candy Snowbarger of Galva and Lonn and Deb Hiebert of Peabody.

Reception coordinator was Marjean Claassen of Newton. Wedding coordinator was Cleo Beth Friesen of Hillsboro. Children's coordinator was Bev Rue. Reception servers were friends and relatives of the bride and groom.

After a honeymoon at Estes Park, Colo., the couple reside in Wichita.

The bride is a 1999 Hillsboro High School graduate and a 2001 Hesston College graduate. She works as a pediatric registered nurse at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and attends Wichita State University.

The groom is a 1999 Hillsboro High School graduate and attended Hesston College for one year. He attends Wichita State University majoring in aerospace engineering.
