Wedding: Koehn, Loewen
Kevin Koehn and Audrey Loewen were united in marriage on June 8, 2002, at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church, rural Hillsboro, with Pastor Gaylord Goertzen officiating the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Robert and Rita Loewen of rural Hillsboro and Leonard and Pat Koehn of Montezuma. Grandparents are Leander and Helen Loewen of Hillsboro and Abe and MaryAnn Friesen of Buhler.
A curved arbor, built by the bride's father, atop tall white columns covered with greenery, along with candelabra, and topiary tree set the stage for the afternoon wedding.
The bride wore a candlelight satin, sleeveless gown, with a V-neck, bead-embroidered bodice and fitted waist. Box pleats opened over beaded designs around the full skirt and train. She wore an elbow-length veil and tiara and carried a hand-tied bouquet of deep red tulips, bear grass and berries.
Serving as matron of honor was Jami Searle of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Sara Janzen of Hillsboro and Angie Hoyt of Rapid City, S.D..
Best man was Lance Koehn of Minneapolis, Minn., brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Craig Koehn of Montezuma, brother of the groom, and Matt Glanzer of Wichita.
Candlelighters were cousins Josie Loewen of Wichita and Lori Geesling of Manhattan.
Musicians were Carol Graber of Tulsa, Okla., organist and aunt of the bride, and Debbie Friesen of Omaha, Neb., violinist and cousin of the bride Serving as vocalists were Lindsay Hohn of Mitchell, S.D., and Jessica Ollenburger of Hillsboro. Vaughn Jost of Hillsboro was guitarist.
Guest book attendants were Tiffany Williams of Hillsboro, Rachel Evans, and Neal and Becca Toews of Houston, Texas.
Gift attendants were Sue Baker, Jenny Hagen, and Jessica Ollenburger, all of Hillsboro.
Ushers were Eric Driggers of Lawrence, Jimmy Janzen of Hillsboro, Nate Thiessen of Bakersfield, Calif., Jared Hartter of Wichita, and Joel Dolloff of Branson, Mo.
Serving as the bride's personal attendant was Amy Ratzlaff of Hillsboro.
Kerry Stepanek of Hillsboro was the ceremony coordinator.
The reception featured a buffet luncheon catered by Cheryl Jost. Servers were Carmen Hein, Adrianne Bechtold, and Kara Chisholm, all of Hillsboro, and Morissa Seidel of Quinter.
Serving as host and hostess were Chad and Kim Koehn of Salina, cousins of the groom.
Heather Stepanek of Hillsboro and Erica Buller of Hesston provided piano music for the reception.
Following a honeymoon to San Diego, Calif., the couple reside in Manhattan.
The groom is employed by the Riley County Law Enforcement Center. The bride is a student at Kansas State University studying interior design.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the Hillsboro Scout House. The meal was prepared by Tyler Searle, brother-in-law of the bride.
