Weekend meth bust leads to local arrests

A meth lab discovered Sunday evening in rural Durham has led to the arrests of two Hillsboro residents and one Marion resident.

Hillsboro residents Michael Mader, 19, and Erin Hein, 19, were taken into custody early Monday morning, charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. The two were arrested at Hein's residence at 415 S. Ash St., #5.

Marion resident Cecil Mader, 42, was taken into custody at a Marion residence. He is charged with possession and manufacture of methamphetamine.

The arrests stemmed from an earlier incident Sunday evening. At approximately 5 p.m., officers from the sheriff's office, Hillsboro Police Department, and Peabody Police Department served a search warrant at 2718 Jade, east of Durham. They found an active meth lab inside the house.

A hazmat team from Wichita was dispatched to clean up the site. Durham Fire and Tampa EMS also responded to the scene.

Mader, who lives at that address, was not at the house at the time. But he was located later that evening in Marion and placed under arrest by Sheriff Lee Becker.

Also during that evening, the sheriff's office, Marion PD, and Peabody PD served a search warrant at 812 Lawrence in Marion. During that search, officers discovered meth and drug paraphernalia.

At 12:15 a.m. Monday, the sheriff's office, Hillsboro PD, and Peabody PD searched the 415 S. Ash apartment in Hillsboro. There they discovered meth and drug paraphernalia, and Hein and Michael Mader were taken into custody.
