Wiebes entertain guests from Arizona and Kentucky

Elroy and Mae Wedel and Loretta Wiebe from Phoenix, Ariz., have been spending time visiting in the area this past week and spent some of it with her sister Betty and Clayton Wiebe. On Thursday the Jay Schmidt family, Betty's niece from Fountain Run, Ky., came to spend some time with the Wiebes.
On Saturday the Wedels and Schmidt families, Loretta, Nelson Wiebe family, Calvin Wiebe family, and Travis Koehn family went to the Rolling Hills Zoo near Salina. Later they all had a picnic in the park at Salina.
On Sunday the Clayton Wiebes hosted a dinner at their farm home and guests were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Jason Wiebe family, Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Doyle Wiebe family, Nelson Wiebe family, the Wedels and Schmidt families, Travis Koehn family, Calvin Wiebe family, Stuart Isaac family, Terry Hiebert family, Loretta Wiebe, and Betty's niece Malinda Schneider and friend Amanda Bender of Moundridge.
Katelin Unruh spent Friday to Sunday in Kansas City for FFA officers' training.
A nice group of people attended the memorial services at Durham Baptist Cemetery Thursday afternoon for Andrew David, 87, who passed away on Sunday. Survivors are sister Elma David of the home and Lester David and wife Alvima of New Hampshire. Lester and wife were able to spend about a week in the area. The community extends their sympathy to the family.
On Sunday, the Harry Wedel family had a picnic dinner at the park in Hillsboro in honor of Karleen Koehn's and Karletta Wiebe's birthdays.
Last Sunday, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe spent the day at Montezuma. They visited Leah Unruh at Bethel Home and had dinner with her. Others joining them were Anita Schmidt and Ken and LaDean Nightingale. In the afternoon the Wiebes attended the 50th wedding anniversary for Paul and Marlene Koehn.
Dianne Schroeder of Lawrence and Jessie Schroeder of Phoenix, Ariz., visited their grandmother, Marcella Unruh this past week.
There were many friends and family from the community that attended the benefit supper Friday evening for Merle Decker at the Methodist Church in Hillsboro. A large crowd was in attendance.
Guests for Sunday dinner at the Roy Davis home were Dale and Kathy Jantz and Ruthann, Ruston and Lydia Dirks, and Mark and Kris Wiebe and family.
Amanda Wedel is now a patient at Mercy and Hospital and is making a slow recovery after she fell and broke her hips and then had surgery. On Wednesday Nadine spent time with her and on Thursday evening the Roy Davis family went to visit her as well as Wendell Wedels and the Greg Wedel family.
On Saturday morning it was time again for the annual breakfast out with the grandkids. Dora Unruh, David and Ashley Enns, Lisa and Darren Enns, Matthew Hiebert, Sarah Unruh, Nathan and Kyle Unruh all enjoyed breakfast at Main Street Café.
Sunday evening after church, the Ransom Wiebes had the Mark Wiebe family, Jason Wiebe family, and Merlin Wiebe family over for refreshments. They helped Karletta celebrate her birthday.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks left Friday for Fort Summer, N.M., to attend the Friday and Saturday meetings of USA Missions. On Sunday they were dinner guests of Gavin and Donalee Johnson, Bruce's sister, at Texhoma, Tex., and returned home Sunday evening.
Larry and Wanda Koehn and Titus, Tim and Shelia Koehn and Dalton and Lorna Wiebe went to Greensburg Sunday. They joined Larry's family for dinner at the school there. That evening they attended the wedding reception for Aaron and Marsha Yost. Marsha is Larry's niece and they were married Aug. 1 at Carson City, Mich.
Last week Gordon, Elaine, and Chelsea Stutzman from Filer, Idaho, were guests in the Mark Unruh home for supper along with their son Chad and wife Hilary Stutzman of Hillsboro. Gordon is Barb Unruh's brother.
