Wienck receives Lions award
ro Noon Lions Club received a special award at the Lions District K-6 convention on Feb. 21 in Emporia. She was presented the Lions International President's Certificate of Appreciation by International director David Roberts of Arizona, who was the convention banquet's guest speaker.
The Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Wienck in recognition of her leadership of the district's Leo's as well as the Hillsboro Leo Club. The award also recognized other service she has given on the local, district, and state level for the Lions and Leo's.
Wienck and her husband David have one son Evan. She is a counselor and teacher at Hillsboro Middle School and is active in the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Other local Lions who attended the convention were David Wienck, Verden and Pauline Harms, Shirley Hein, Norma Cabeen, Marvin and Elfrieda Funk, and Leo members, Danielle Johnson, Danielle Kelley, Jacob Daniels, Hope Darting, and Elissa Richert. Youth exchange student, Sasha Lytvynbova also attended the convention.
