Willard Hague

Willard W. Hague, 84, died Sept. 3, 2002 in Marion.

Born Jan. 12, 1918, at Walton, he was the son of Loren and Iva (Turner) Hague.

He was the oldest of 10 children. In 1936, he graduated from Walton High School.

In 1942, he joined the Army and served in the South Pacific for four years. He was awarded the Legion of Merit medal.

On June 16, 1946, at Peabody, he married Earlene Nicklaus. She survives.

He was a retired farmer and rancher and a member of Marion Valley United Methodist Church.

He was also a member of the American Legion in Florence and the Marion VFW.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Don Hague of Gering, Neb., Dennis Hague of Newton, and Doug Hague of Benton; daughter, Roxanne Mann of Livonia, Mich.; sisters, Evelyn Kline, Cleona Brazle, and Loretta Lackey, all of Peabody; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Kennedy Mukwindidza officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, with Taps and the echo played by Matt and Molly Hague. The Color Guard will be represented from the Florence American Legion. Visitation hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Memorial funds have been established with St. Luke Hospital in Marion or Valley United Methodist Church in Marion.
