Women's golf elects new officers
The Women's Golf Association 18-hole Championship Tournament was held Aug. 24 at the Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course.
After play, a luncheon was served, and prizes were awarded. The group had its business meeting and elected officers for 2003. Officers are Jane Long, president; Raye Dirks, vice-president; Rita Brennan, secretary-treasurer; Marcella Mohn, tournament chairman; Eunice Matz, social chairman, Sue Klassen, social chairman; and Eloise Jost, bridge chairman.
Results of the tournament were: Medalist — Mary Honeck, 91. First flight — 1. Pat Bartel, 94; 2. Judy Klein, 97; 3. Sue Klassen, 103. Second flight — 1. Raye Dirks, 105; 2. Frances Unruh, 120; 3. Marcella Mohn, 122.
Straightest drive No. 8 — Jane Long. Closest to pin No. 6 — Pat Bartel. Longest putt No. 9 — Sue Klassen. Least putts — Frances Unruh, 31. Birdies — Mary Honeck, Sue Klassen. Hole-out — Mary Honeck.
