Tabor women's soccer team played three games this week and walked away with two wins and one loss. The team beat Manhattan Christian 7-2, lost to Sterling 3-0, and turned around to beat Bethel 9-0 for the second time this season.
Against Manhattan Christian, Tabor started the game off by kicking the ball into their own goal. The team then fought back to a 2-1 lead at half time, and then ran the score up in the second half. Kandi Holland, a senior from Merino Valley, Calif., scored three goals, and Michelle Rink, a senior from Wichita, scored four goals.
Tabor lost to Sterling, and according to Lincoln Wulf, director of soccer operations at Tabor, the team didn't play very well that game.
"They had four or five good chances to score, but they just couldn't put it away, and they gave up two easy goals," said Wulf.
At Bethel the first half of the game was all Holland and Rink. There wasn't much passing, and Holland scored four goals, Rink scored one.
At half time they were told they had enough to win the game, and they needed to work on their passing game. During the second half, the team passed much better according to Wulf and four different players scored.
"It was a much better half," said Wulf.
Tabor women's soccer played Southwestern College at 5 p.m. Wednesday on the road at Winfield and will play Saint Mary University 2 p.m. Monday in a conference game at home.
