Women's tennis team hosts Bethel
Tabor College women's tennis team played host to Bethel College Sept. 7 on the Tabor campus.
In doubles, the team of Laurel Delameter and Ashley Helmley were defeated by Bethel 6-3, 6-4.
Danni Brucks and Jennifer Proffitt defeated Bethel opponents, 7-6, 6-3.
Lindsay Adrian and Kim Harden were defeated by Bethel 6-3, 7-5.
In singles competition against Bethel, Delameter lost the first game 6-2, but came back to win the second game 6-3. She lost the third game 6-3 and lost the match.
Helmley lost 6-4, 6-1, and Brucks won 7-6, 6-3.
Proffitt lost the first game 7-6, but came back to win the second and third games 6-3, 7-6 and won the match.
Harden also lost her first game 6-3, but came back to win the second and third games 6-2, 6-4, and won her match.
Adrian lost her match 6-2, 6-2.
The teams played Friday, Saturday at the Newman Invitational. No statistics were available at press time.
The team will play Sept. 24-25 at the Oman Hotels National Tennis meet held in Kansas City.
