Lightly regarded before the season, the Marion High School football team is now one of only two Class 3A schools still playing football in Kansas. Friday, the Warriors ripped apart Wellsville 41-6. They will play Wichita Collegiate in state playoffs Friday in Hays.
Marion native Carla Stovall will be the next attorney general of Kansas. She will be sworn into office in January. Stovall won handily over Democratic nominee Richard Schodorf.
Senior Aaron Reiswig has been named student of the month by the Marion High School faculty. His parents are Larry and Jolene Reiswig of Marion.
St. Luke Hospital and Marion County Emergency Medical Services staff staged a disaster drill Nov. 7. Both groups were pleased with the results.
Twelve Marion High School students were inducted recently into the National Honor Society.
They are Katie Barta-Moran, Eliza Bennett, Jodi Bernhardt, Christopher Bowers, Josh Cooper, Austin Gilbert, Amanda Hanson, Gabrielle Longhofer, Jennifer Maggard, Aaron Reiswig, Kathryn Vantuyl, and Lisa Zogelman.
