Jeff and Mary Pritchard, son and mother, will appear in Marion on Old Settlers Day. Jeff is a national and international champion on the violin. Their entertainment will be one of the highlights of the afternoon program.

A long line of old horse-drawn rakes attracts considerable attention from motorists coming into Marion from the east. They are part of a machinery display by Longhofer Supply.

This week’s Personality Profile column features Alvin Kreutziger, prominent Marion County farmer.

Karen Kirkendall, daughter of LaDonna Kirkendall, Cloverdale, Ohio, and Robert Konarik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Konarik, Marion, were married Aug. 13 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.

Mike Smith, weatherman at a local television station, will be speaker Sept. 15 at a Marion County Hospital District 1 Auxiliary meeting.

James W. Holub of rural Marion was one of 14 seniors inducted recently into Steel Ring at Kansas State University. Steel Ring is a professional organization recognizing K-State seniors in engineering for their leadership.

Coach Leonard White told Marion Kiwanians on Tuesday that his 1977 crop of Warriors showed good prospects of being a better than average football team. Coaching assistants will be Bill Pickering, offense; John Buller, secondary; and Charles Kanady, defense.
