Teenage and adult safe drivers for the month of June were announced recently by the United Traffic Safety Commission of Marion. The drivers are Joan Meyer and Shirley Bredemeier. Dick’s Phillips 66 Service will provide gasoline to the safe drivers of the month.

The Farmers Co-Op Association of Marion announced this week the appointment of a new manager, who has taken the place of Harvey Kruse. The new man is Bob Oller, who comes from Cullison, where he also operated an elevator.

Pam Slusser was guest of honor at a skating party Friday evening in honor of her 9th birthday. Skating with her at a Newton skating rink were Brenda Helmer, Janice Wiens, Brenda Foth, Shelley Batt, Rae Jean Woerz, Debbie Vogt, Patty Regnier, Cindy Jost, and Sandra Anderson. Wally Slusser and Dean Jost assisted Mrs. Alden Slusser with the party.

Norma Nice, bride-elect of Jerry Kline, was guest of honor July 25 at a miscellaneous bridal shower at the Cyrus Goertz home. Hostesses were Diana Goertz, Deanna Klenda, Donna Newsom, Carol Kline, Deanna Kimball, Sandra Jackson, Jeanne Carr, Georgie Helmer, Connie Fisher, Pam Hamlin, and Jean Williams.
