Marion will have a new street sweeper, with delivery expected about Feb. 1. The old sweeper has served for more than 15 years. Commissioners also agreed to reactivate the spring in Central Park. It will be dug out so it will flow again.

Connie Jost was crowned queen of courts Friday night. Her attendants were Becky Berry and Barbara Christensen. The queen was escorted by Gene Schimpf and the attendants by Larry Ensey and Richard Soyez. Judy Broadstreet, 1964 queen of courts, crowned her successor. Her escort was Don Westerhaus.

Everett Burkhead, Marion, received $50 in this week’s Cash Days drawing. Another winner was Ralph Klein of Peabody, $5. Not present when their names were drawn were G.R. Holmes, Mrs. Raymond Kraus, and Albert Uphoff.

David Goertz, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Goertz, combined skill, alertness, and good luck to become one of the winners in the 4-H Catch-It-Calf contest this week at the National Western Livestock Show in Denver.
