Final revised plans for the new Marion High School gymnasium and vocational agriculture building are here. The site has not been definitely decided but in all probability it will be located south of the high school or between the high school and grade school.
Work on refinishing and remodeling the Jackson Clothing store, badly damaged by fire May 29, is progressing rapidly.
A party Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Reh celebrated the 5th birthday of Mary Sue Reh. The guest list included Carol Sue Conyers; Louise, Irene, and Delphine Ford; Tommie Good; Sylvia and Chrissie Herbert; Jimmie Keazer; Margaret McClain, Janet Stiller; and Dickie Wayne Varenhorst.
Asphalt tiling blocks in three attractive colors have been laid on the floors at the Marion Pharmacy during the past week.
An estimated 500 Marion County children will take a two- week swimming course under Red Cross instruction this summer. Three pools in nearby cities — Herington, Newton, and El Dorado — are cooperating in giving the lessons.
