A note of Hollywood styling burst forth Friday evening on the streets of Marion with temporary installation of new radiant fluorescent lighting units. The city is debating what type of lighting would be best to replace the type being used now.

E.F. “Brownie” Schroer purchased the Cozy Café from Art Klein on Monday morning. He and Mrs. Schroer will continue operation of the popular spot under the same name.

The local Boy Scout troop spent from Thursday afternoon to Sunday evening at the Capitol in Topeka. Each scout personally met Gov. Frank Carlson as well as visited many places of interest.

The Marion Warriors, now standing at the top of the Cottonwood Valley League, are scheduled to play Herington at 8 p.m. Thursday on the Marion field.

After defeating Cathedral of Wichita, the Warriors not only stand at the top of their league but also are rated high on the books of the gridiron throughout the state.
