Antique wagon creates glamorous Christmas scene

Janie Whitwell always wanted to own an antique farm wagon, and her chance came in June.
She and her husband, Eddy, redid the wagon, painting the sideboards green and the wooden wheel spokes red.
They bought a pair of life-size, sparkling reindeer and attached them to the wagon for a dazzling Christmas display in their yard at 1576 190th St. The wagon is lined with greenery and evokes the joy of the season.
Last week’s windstorm earned some damage to the display. They watched in horror as their precious reindeer and wagon were being battered.
“They had a rough ride,” Janie said. “My husband is ready to put them back in the barn.”
