Candidate forum set for July 24
The Record will sponsor a bipartisan forum for county commissioner and state representative candidates July 26 at the ballroom of Marion’s city hall.
The format will not be a debate but a chance for reporters and the audience to pose questions in a moderated, civil way, with allowance for rebuttal, if needed.
Both Republican and Democratic primary candidates for House District 70 were invited to appear from 1:15 to 2 p.m. Incumbent Republican Greg Wilson and challenger Brandon Rein have accepted the invitation. Unopposed Democrat candidate Kylie Kilmer declined because of a family reunion scheduled that day.
County commissioner candidates will appear from 2 to 3 p.m.
In District 4, Republican commissioner candidates Dan Holub, Amy Soyez, and Greg Wyatt accepted the invitation, as did Democrat Randy Eitzen, who is unopposed in the primary. Republican candidate Tommy Britain did not respond.
The event will be free and open to the public.
