Centre golfer wins sub-state

Centre’s lone golfer, Easton Glessner, walked away as the 1A sub-state champion Tuesday at a weather-delayed meet at Hanover.
Glessner will travel Tuesday to McPherson for a two-day Class 1A state tournament.
Goessel
Wind was an element for golfers Monday at Stafford Country Club.
Goessel senior Levi Schrag tied for sixth place and qualified for the 1A tournament next week, scoring an 83.
Anthony Boden came in 39th out of 53 golfers.
Hillsboro
Jake Sibayan also qualified for state, tying for 14th at the sub-state at Marion.
He will be competing Tuesday and Wednesday in the Class 2A meet at Winfield. Teammate Braxton Hiebert tied for 19th place. Nathan Hill tied for 21st place. Peyton Miller tied for 26th, Karson Whiteley was 36th place, and Reese Duerksen tied for 38th.
Hillsboro placed fifth out of 11 teams.
Marion
The Warriors placed eight as a team. Ryan Tharp tied for 27th, and Jayden Stiver tied for 29th. Jacob Tharp was 31st.
