Deputy graduates
from training academy
Sheriff’s deputy Christopher Lyon, 25, graduated July 2 from Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.
Lyon was one of 16 officers completing the center’s basic training class.
Sheriff Robert Craft said he hired Lyon, from Emporia, because his eagerness and personality made him a good fit for the department. Lyon started duties Feb. 26. He has been partnered with other deputies until the sheriff’s department determines he is ready to work alone.
