Dorothy Kohls

Services for former resident Dorothy A. Kohls, 99, who died June 15 in Salina, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Inurnment will be in Elk Cemetery in Chase County.

Born June 18, 1922, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Stuart and Beulah (Buford) Lucas, she married Alfred A. Kohls and the couple lived in Chase and Marion Counties for 50 years before moving to Salina in 1990 for her husband’s dialysis treatments.

He preceded her in death along with son Roger W. Kohls Sr.; brothers Ronald, Lyle, and Clifford Lucas; and sisters Wanda Feldhut, Betty Crank, and Shirley Burkholder.

Survivors include children A.W. Kohls and Sonja Maddox, both of rural Chase County, and Barbara Reyer of Rose Hill; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Rebecca A. Morrison House at Salina Regional Health Center.
