Free movies planned
at Hillsboro library
Free movies will be shown at 2 and 3:45 p.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Public Library.
The library is contractually forbidden to advertise the movies’ name. The first, based on a children’s book by Crockett Johnson and rated PG, is about a boy named Harold who causes anything he touches with his purple crayon to come to life.
The second, based on a novel by Agatha Christie and rated PG-13, is a mystery about an oddly shaped English manor where everyone has a motive for murder. Children 13 and younger must be accompanied by a parent.
Free posters, books, popcorn, and water will be available.
Other upcoming programs at the library will include crafts for kids from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 7 during Down Home Christmas. The library’s monthly book club meets the second Thursday of each month. It will discuss “The BFG” by Roald Dahl at 7 p.m. Dec. 12.
