Handgun seized in drug bust

After weaving his car along 3rd St. in Marion, a man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of alcohol, drugs, and weapon offenses.

Donald L. Wilson, 50, was pulled over in the 200 block of Miller St. after deputy Joel Womochil noticed how Wilson was driving.

Undersheriff Larry Starkey said Wilson was in possession of an unknown medication for which he had no prescription. The drug was sent to Kansas Bureau of Investigation for identification.

Also found in Wilson’s possession were marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun.

Wilson was booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and a controlled substance, and a firearm, and transporting an open container of alcohol.

He was released 12½ hours later on $12,500 surety bond.
