Hillsboro school board retains leadership

The makeup of USD 410’s school board changed not a bit Monday night.
Superintendent Clint Corby’s contract was extended for two years, and the president and vice president of the board, Jared Jost and Rod Koons, were unanimously reelected to their seats.
All seven board members also were reappointed to their auxiliary positions.
Koons in particular symbolizes the board’s stability.
He has been vice president since 2015 and has been part of the board for more than 20 years.
“His experience and history on the board are vital,” Corby said.
Next year, three seats will be up for re-election: Jessey Heibert’s, Sara Wichert’s, and Scott Winter’s.
The meeting also saw David Funk resign as assistant track coach. He is moving out of Hillsboro.
“David’s knowledge of track and pole vault is priceless,” Corby said. “He’ll be missed.”
