Manhattan woman arrested at Burns

A Manhattan woman was arrested Saturday after a traffic stop in Burns at Broadway St. and US-77.

When Burns police chief Joel Womochil pulled over the driver, he noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a semi-automatic handgun.

Abbigail M. Beckham, 25, Manhattan, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence, transporting an open container of alcohol, possession of a firearm by a person under the influence, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving while her license was canceled, suspended or revoked, and speeding.

She was released 2½ hours later on $2,500 surety bond.
